Ministry of Steel to Hold Open House on Steel Import Issues on March 23

The Ministry of Steel has announced an Open House session to address concerns related to steel imports, scheduled for March 23, 2026, in New Delhi. The session will take place at the Steel Room, 3rd Floor, GPOA-3, Netaji Nagar, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

The initiative aims to provide a platform for companies and industry associations to raise issues pertaining to steel import regulations, including matters related to SIMS, SARAL SIMS, and QCO Exemptions.

Interested participants must register in advance by sending an email to tech-steel[at]nic[dot]in to obtain a confirmed time slot. The deadline for submitting requests is March 20, 2026, by 3:00 PM.

Details Required for Participation:

Applicants are required to include the following information in their email:

  • Name of the company or association
  • Type of industry and product (e.g., auto, aerospace, telecom, defence)
  • Nature of the issue (SIMS/SARAL SIMS/QCO Exemption)
  • Reference details of any related application (if applicable)
  • Brief description of the issue (within 50 words)
  • Name and designation of the participant (third-party representation not allowed)
  • Contact details (mobile number and email)

Due to logistical constraints, walk-in participation will not be allowed, and only one representative per organisationwill be permitted to ensure broader industry representation.

The Open House reflects the government’s continued engagement with stakeholders to streamline import processes and address operational challenges within the steel sector.
